Spaghetti Squash
i was moseying around the grocery store the other night when i spotted a spaghetti squash! id been wanting to try one forever, but couldnt ever find one. i browsed through some recipes online and decided to combine a few to see what would work. its actually so fun when you go to scoop out the "noodles": i was shocked at how noodle-like they are.
and it was very easy to make!....
1. first, i only wanted to make half so i sliced it down the center (because i wasnt strong enough to get the knife to cut it length wise.) then i doused it in olive oil and salt and pepper. and put it back together upside down on foil as if i had cut it length wise. i then poured about a cup of water around it and covered it with foil. place it in the over at 400 degrees for 45 minutes!
2. after 45 minutes, i removed the foil and turned both pieces face up, and placed them back in the oven for another 10-15 minutes.
3. remove and let cool a little.
4. take a fork to it: it will easily shred apart with a fork! i dont think you would really want to eat it plain, i made a marinara sauce to go with (recipe to follow). but just a big squeeze of lemon, salt, pepper and parmesan would be great too.
